Heather Belcher is based in London, UK
She exhibits her work at home and abroad and is a selected member of the Contemporary Applied Arts Gallery in London and the 62 Group of Textile Artists.
She is also on the Crafts Council of Great Britain’s ‘Selected Index of Makers’ and has work in their Public Collection.
Heather’s area of specialism is hand made felting techniques, incorporating painterly processes depicting domestic objects, 3-dimensional constructions of garments, print, stitch, knit and weave. Drawing on felt’s ancient associations with early body coverings, the work explores issues of identity, the absence/presence of the body, protection and insulation.
